One of the mission programs that we support at RPC is the TGHI Coconut Grove Girl’s Group. The group is a youth prevention intervention program that provides counseling, education and socialization for at-risk teenage girls. The group meets once a month to discuss issues such as self esteem, positive peer relationships, conflict resolution, teen pregnancy prevention, academic achievement and personal power through financial literacy.

The Mission Division decided to support this program several years ago and Isabelle Hill-Smith and Sandy Barrow take turns providing refreshments once a month for the Girl’s Group meetings. The group has grown so much that there are now several groups. We continue this support for these young girls and would welcome others who wish to participate.

TGHI welcomes donations of clothing for all ages and will contact us from time to time for donation of items to address special needs. We bring these special requests to the congregation in an effort to help. TGHI also welcomes involvement with any of their other programs.
